A 300-level student of English Language, Chrisland University, Miss Omotola Olori has broken grounds as she becomes the first to bag full-funded scholarship in Chrisland University following her academic strides.
The disclosure of the scholarship for the 21-year-old, who is a first class student with a cumulative grade point average of 4.76 was made during the council meeting held on Thursday, 29th of April 2021.
Speaking with Miss Moyin Ajala, the University’s Newsperson, about the offer, Miss Moyin Ajala said “it still feels pretty unbelievable, though I am exited”. According to her she started pulling the weight of excellence at the University General Assembly during her programme in Chrisland University.
“I hope to improve on my personal best and this is like a new life, which I need and want” she explained.
Miss Olori, who aspires to solve local problems such as hunger, illiteracy and others through establishing a non-governmental organization to mobilize people to impact lives positively, said she had always aimed at excellence in all her academic pursuits.
She appreciated the Chancellor, High Chief Dr. Mrs, Winifred Awosika the University Management, her family member, friends and above all. The Almighty for helping her achieve this feat adding that their support has catapulted her to keep going and to becoming the best among her peers. She urged her fellow students to be committed to the pursuit of excellence in their academics.
In her remarks, the, Vice Chancellor, Prof Mrs Chinedum Peace Babalola, congratulated Miss Olori for the feat, adding that she had dazzled many with her academic prowess. She encouraged her to focus on the positive and be guided by knowledge.
